Kafayat began her educational journey by earning her associate degrees in nursing and midwifery from renowned institutions, including Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital in Ile Ife and Wesley Guild in Ilesa, Nigeria. To further her education and expertise, she pursued a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Grand Canyon University in Arizona, USA. Graduated from her MSN-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Texas Tyler.
Kafayat’s personal experiences have shaped her into a passionate advocate for mental health care, stemming from her survival of childhood sexual trauma and her battle with perinatal depression during one of her pregnancies. These challenges have fueled her commitment to promoting mental well-being for all individuals.
She is the driving force behind ThrivHers, a platform she founded to empower women to unlock their inner potential, break through limitations, and embrace their innate strength. Additionally, Kafayat established the NurseKhaphie Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to providing school lunches and mental health support to children in underserved communities. Presently, the foundation is making a difference by offering nutritious meals to 100 pupils in the slums of Iyara Waari in Nigeria.
Kafayat extends her advocacy for mental health and healing through various platforms. She hosts the podcast “From Darkness to Stars,” where she shares her own healing journey and offers support to survivors of sexual trauma. Furthermore, her Clubhouse platform, “Dad Series,” is tailored to assist men in navigating their roles as fathers during their transition into parenthood.
Kafayat’s next project is centered on providing support and guidance to widowers as they embark on their healing journeys and strive to become the best versions of themselves. Through her dedication and multifaceted initiatives, she continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals and communities, emphasizing the importance of mental health and personal growth.
